DISTRICT COMMITTEE ?xml:namespace> |
|
The Foothills District Committee meets the second Thursday of every month at
Taylor’s 1st
Baptist
Church beginning at
6:30pm. We invite anyone who would like to assist in the success of the Foothills District. If anyone has any questions, please call Dan Glass at 233-8363 or the District Chairman, Michael Stokes 895-0478. |
|
POPCORN |
|
If you are not already signed up for popcorn, please complete the sign up form immediately and choose 1 of 4 popcorn kick offs to attend. We should all take advantage of the sale to reduce the cost of scouting in our local units. The Boys will again have the chance to go to the Clemson or USC Popcorn Day and meet players and see the sporting facilities, if they fill up take-order sheet. This is a great incentive for the boys and the parents. We will be having a few more incentives for those boys who are overachievers and fill more than one take-order sheet. If anyone needs training please contact our Dan Glass at 233-8363.

|
SUMMER CAMP |
Make sure all boys that are attending summer camp have all their paper work filled out and complete. This includes merit badge schedules, physicals, medical forms, etc. Scoutmasters will be contacted by Dan Glass two weeks prior to attending summer camp to get a head count of adults and youth that are attending. |
| FALL ROUNDUP |
|
Dan Glass will be contacting the Cubmasters about their school night date, as the principals confirm them. We do need some roundup coordinators to assist with our recruiting process. This job responsibility is a short-term project that is vital to the success of the Foothills District. It requires the roundup coordinator to attend
2 to 3 school nights. Please contact Dan if you can assist. |

Alumni Connection
Through the BSA Alumni Connection, you can find Scouting friends and mentors, add your story to the growing BSA 100th Anniversary online scrapbook, and find out how you can re-engage with Scouting programs.
Generations Connection
For many, Scouting is a tradition that is handed down generation to generation. Scouting provides the opportunity to strengthen ties between family members, create great family memories, and develop a shared family foundation of worthwhile virtues and values. The Generations Connection encourages Scouts to explore the positive impact of Scouting on families through a program centered around the enduring symbol of the tree.
