District Executive's Corner by Chad Duggins

I hope everyone had a great summer. It is always fun to be able to work at day camp helping the leaders make the tables and chairs for the Webelos Scouts. This year we had 87 Webelos 1 & 2 attend Day Camp with each one making either a table or chair. Each scout did a great job with their project and finished them to take home on Friday. Thanks to all the adults that helped with the projects.

Thanks to each and every adult that volunteered their time to make Oconee Day Camp a tremendous success. Kim Kelly and Mimi Kidd provided the leadership and guidance, once again, to insure our Day Camp was a success. Thank you both for a job well done.

Kickoff Plans

August 12^th we will have our District kick-off for the new Scouting year. That will be our first round table of the year so plan to have your leaders there to talk about the upcoming calendar along with any activities you as a leader would like to see happen in our District. The input of each and every leader is important to the District so plan to attend.

Merit Badge Counselors

We are in the process of putting together a District list of merit badge counselors and need each unit to provide a list of the merit badge counselors in their respective units. Some units often need help getting their youth a particular merit badge that is required for Eagle Scout and would appreciate assistance with getting them done. Please help so other units can take advantage of your experts to get the merit badges they need.
