Programs
The Blue Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America can help you find the right Scouting program for you right in your neighborhood.
Youth
Which program is right for you?
Cub Scouts is for boys ages 7 through 10, or grades first through fifth.
Boy Scouts is for boys ages 11 through 18.
Venturing is for boys and girls ages 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20.
Exploring is for boys and girls ages 15 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20.
There are Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams, and Venturing Crews all over the 8 county council area. Contact our Service Center  and ask for assistance locating a Scout Unit that meets near you.
Volunteer Leaders
Scouting works because of the many adults that volunteer their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of youth as Scout Leaders. Enthusiastic adult volunteers are always needed to work directly with young people and behind-the-scenes. To be a Scout Leader you must be at least 18 years old (21 for Venturing). Contact the Service Center, tell them you are interested in volunteering as an adult leader and ask for assistance locating a Scout Unit that meets near you.
