Good Turn For America - Tell Us About Your Service Project
We know that Scouts across the nation are answering the call to service. To tell the story of how your den, pack, patrol, troop, team, crew, ship or post is contributing to this effort, log onto: www.goodturnforamerica.org and select the date collection button the left of the screen. Note: By going online and logging your service hours your individual Pack, Troop, Team, Crew, Ship, or Post as well as the Blue Ridge Council will be given credit in the National Good Turn For America tracking done by the National Council, B.S.A.!
All leaders and advisors should have received a card with individualized information to enter the data collection site. If you have not received a service project card, or did not have any information at the bottom of your card, please call the Scout Office to get your unit’s unique Good Turn for America ID and local unit number.
After entering the date, your unit will be eligible to receive the Good Turn for America patch and year segment, which can be purchased at the Trading Post. You can enter service projects throughout the year, so don’t forget to come back and enter all your units’ service projects, no matter how big or small. Let’s Make A Difference!
Send Mail to Service Men and Women
Through Friends of Our Troops, you can send letters to men and women in the Armed Services. Download a flyer here that tells how (PDF format, about 3Mb in size). Or write to Friends of Our Troops, PO Box 65408, Fayetteville, NC 28306, for an information flyer to be mailed to you.
Eagle Scout Alumni
The Blue Ridge Council is beginning an Eagle Scout alumni group. Therefore, we are trying to update our records of all Eagle Scouts in the Upstate of South Carolina, regardless of where the award was earned. If you would like to be included in this group, please complete and submit the Eagle Information Form. Plans are to get this group together for one or two special events during the year.
